Lady Rose and Sir Thomas Hare both loved children and animals, and were never happier than when they saw a group of children playing in the garden. There is so much to do here, and families are encouraged to visit, bring a picnic and enjoy exploring. There is a huge swing hanging off one of the ancient cedar trees, grassy banks to roll down, twisting mown paths to run along, and plenty of tree climbing to be done. There are also some very unusual seats scattered around the gardens, and a few bug hotels made by our clever gardener Mike. See if you can spot them.

We have Discovery Sheets at the entrance (free for each child) to open young eyes to the wonder of the gardens, and get them hunting for nature’s treasures.
